The coach is the professional supporting the client and works persistently for delivering the desired results in his/her personal and professional life. The coach contributes to the success and satisfaction of the client and this is how his/her work is measured.
WHAT DOES A COACH MEAN?
To get a deeper insight into the essence of the term “coach”, let’s explore its etymology. In English, “coach” is a mail car, stagecoach, carriage, wagon, bus. The term “to travel in a coach” means “to travel in a vehicle” on rails or in the air. In other words, a “coach” is the vehicle that moves a person or group of people from one starting point to the desired final destination.
The coach provides and has the task of maintaining a secure environment or “space” in which the client can explore all possible options for solving a case or achieving a goal. The coach does not evaluate the results, nor does he/she judge the client, but solely provokes the movement towards the desired result and guarantees the following steps.
The coach is the one who goes hand in hand with the client from the analysis of the current situation (place of departure) to the definition of goals (place of arrival) and the development and implementation of the action plan connecting the starting point with the desired result.
HOW DOES THE COACH WORK?
The coach is a personal consultant and not a therapist or a doctor. He/she does not deal with mental pathologies or psychotherapy, nor with the diagnosis and treatment of any diseases.
He/she uses a diverse set of tools, to get the best out of his/her clients, helping them to overcome their own barriers and develop their full potential.
The coach is committed to assisting his/her clients in achieving their goals, in search of “inventive improvement.” This is different than “corrective improvement” characteristic of therapy and treatment. In other words, the methods used in coaching are goal-oriented, not problem-oriented.

All coachers at Bulgarian Coaching Academy have successfully completed our program and are awarded Certificates for NLP coach from the Society of Neuro-linguistic programming.
